Asian Champions Trophy 2021

India defeated Pakistan 1-3 in the Robin Round match of the Asian Champions Trophy held in Dhaka, Bangladesh under the auspices of Asian Hockey Federation. Junaid Manzoor scored the only field goal for Pakistan in the second match of the event. In a nerve-wracking match, Korea defeated hosts Bangladesh by 2-3 goals.

The sixth edition of the Asian Champions Trophy which is being played from December 14 to 22 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The match started with a fast game and both the teams attacked each other’s goal post

In the first quarter for India, Harman Preet Singh scored a goal through a fast drag drag on a penalty corner while India’s center striker Akash Deb Singh strengthened the lead by scoring the second goal. In the fourth quarter of the game, Junaid Manzoor from Pakistan guided the ball to the Indian goal post on a pass from teammate Rana Waheed and scored a field goal for Pakistan. The last goal of the match was scored by Indian drag ski specialist Herman Preet Singh through penalty corner.

For Pakistan, goalkeeper Mazhar Abbas, defenders Mubashir Ali, Abu Bakar Mahmood, Emad Shakeel Butt and Mohammad Abdullah played confidently. Harman Preet Singh was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and was awarded the Man of the Match award by the CEO of Asian Hockey Federation Tayyab Ikram Chaudhry along with the Vice President of Asian Hockey Federation. In the sixth match of the event and today’s second match, Korea defeated Bangladesh by 2-3 goals after a tough contest.

On Saturday, December 18, the fourth day of the event, Pakistan will play its third match against Korea at 2:30 pm Pakistan time.
