Pakistan Hockey Federation Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan announced the appointment of Olympian Tahir Zaman as the head coach of the national team after the approval of PHF President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti.
PHF Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan added during the media briefing that Olympian Tahir Zaman who is not only our hockey legend but also a regular qualified coach has extensive experience in modern technical coaching. After the approval of President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti, the head coach of the national team has been appointed. Olympian Tahir Zaman will join the national team in China tomorrow.He further said that Minister for Inter Provincial Rana Sanaullah Khan, Adviser to Prime Minister Rana Mashhood Ali and DG Pakistan Sports Board Yasir Pirzada have always cooperated with PHF and supported the national game. We reject the negative propaganda by some elements. They will meet. In the light of their experiences, work will be done for the improvement of Hockey.The PHF president will write regular letters to all former Olympians for the development and promotion of hockey and meet them. He said that a certain journalist from Karachi spread fake news on someone’s behalf, in which it was said that PHF President and Secretary had received one crore rupees as daily allowance and also spread false news about hockey sticks. While the facts are completely different from that which has been listed in the PHF rules for many years, the allowance is given to all the officials. Whatever expenses are incurred with respect to hockey sticks and other equipment are also audited.We will approach the court against those who spread such false news. Let us all continue to play our part for the betterment of Hockey while elements spreading negative propaganda will be dealt with strictly according to law.
