Pakistan Hockey Federation announces Pakistan hockey team to participate in Asian Champions Trophy: Omar Bhatta to lead National hockey team while Ali Shan will be the vice-captain
According to details Pakistan Hockey Team have been announced to participate in the Asian Champions Trophy to be played from December 14 to 22 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the 20-member National hockey squad announced by The Pakistan Hockey Federation are Goalkeepers: Waqar (Wapda), Abdullah Ishtiaq (Mari Petroleum), Fullbacks: Mubashir Ali (Wapda), Ammad Shakeel Butt (National Bank), Tazeem ul Hassan (Mari Petroleum), Muhammad Abdullah (Mari Petroleum), Aqeel Ahmed (Mari Petroleum) Halfbacks: Abu Bakar Mahmood (National Bank), Moin Shakeel (WAPDA), Hamad-ud-Din Anjum (WAPDA), Ghazanfar Ali (Mari Petroleum, Azfar Yaqoob (Sui Southern Gas)) Forwards: M Umar Bhatta (WAPDA), Ali Shan (Sui) Southern Gas), Ejaz Ahmed (WAPDA), Rana Waheed (WAPDA), Junaid Manzoor (National Bank), Afraz (Mari Petroleum), Ahmed Nadeem (Mari Petroleum) and M Salman Razzaq (WAPDA).
The head coach of the team will be Olympian Khawaja Junaid while the coaches include Olympian Syed Sameer Hussain (PAF), Ajmal Khan Lodhi (Sialkot), Video Analyst Nadeem Khan Lodhi (Sialkot) and team doctor will be Dr Syed Asad Abbas.
