“PHF 4 Teams Hockey Series” under the auspices of the Pakistan Hockey Federation will be played at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore from tomorrow for the preparation for the National Junior Hockey Team to participate in the Junior World Cup and Junior Asia Cup. The four-team series, including Pakistan Juniors, will be played on a double league basis. The opening match of the event will be played between Pakistan Juniors and Sui Southern Gas at 5:30 pm at National Hockey Stadium Lahore. Legend Olympian Manzoor Jr. Chairman National Hockey Selection Committee will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. According to details, a four-team hockey series is being organized by the Pakistan Hockey Federation to prepare the national junior hockey team. Top departmental teams of Pakistan Hockey Federation have been invited to participate in the event for the best preparation of the national junior hockey team. Including WAPDA, Sui Southern Gas and Pakistan Navy. Two matches will be played daily in the at National Hockey Stadium Astroturf Ground No. 2, Lahore. The first match will be played in daylight while the second match will be played in floodlights. A total of 12 matches will be played in the event while one day will be a rest after two consecutive matches These details were revealed by Tournament Director Lt. Col. R. Asif Naz Khokhar along with Umpires Manager Rashid Mahmood Butt in a meeting of technical officials, umpires and managers, coaches. He said that the aim of the series is to create the best training environment and competitive atmosphere for the Pakistan Junior Hockey Team. He said that in the series, the National Hockey Selection Committee will also have an opportunity to scrutinize the performance of the players. Umpires Manager Rashid Butt briefed the team representatives and technical officials involved in the event on the rules and regulations of the event.The opening match of the event will be played between Pakistan Juniors and Sui Southern Gas tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. The special guest of the opening match will be the 1984 Olympics winning captain, legend Olympian Manzoor Jr.
